Delhi High Court Issues Notice to CBI in Kejriwal’s Excise Policy Case Challenge

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in response to a plea filed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal’s plea challenges his arrest and subsequent remand by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

A bench led by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna directed the CBI to file a detailed response to the plea within seven days. The court also allowed the filing of a rejoinder, if any, within two days. The Delhi High Court commenced hearing on Kejriwal’s plea on Tuesday.

Representing Kejriwal, senior advocate AM Singhvi argued that there was no necessity or need to arrest the Delhi Chief Minister. The matter has been adjourned to July 17 for further proceedings. More details about the case are awaited.
