Delhi Metro Introduces Convenient ‘Multiple Journey QR Ticket’ for Seamless Travel

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revolutionized commuting in the capital city by introducing the innovative ‘Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT)’ feature. This new service, launched on Thursday, September 12th, aims to enhance the convenience of metro travel for passengers by eliminating the need to purchase daily QR tickets.

The MJQRT feature is exclusively available on the DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app. To avail this service, users need to register on the app and add an initial balance of ₹150, which can be used for metro travel. Notably, there is no security deposit required for the MJQRT.

Passengers can enjoy a seamless and cost-effective journey with the MJQRT, as a minimum balance of ₹60 is required to use it. The service offers flexible recharge options, allowing users to add funds in multiples of ₹50 through various digital payment methods like UPI, credit cards, and debit cards. The maximum balance limit for the MJQRT is ₹3,000.

The MJQRT also offers enticing discounts for passengers. During peak hours (8 AM – 12 PM and 5 PM – 9 PM), passengers receive a 10% discount on their travel, while off-peak hours offer a generous 20% discount.

Using the Multiple Journey QR Ticket is a straightforward process:

1.

Tap the multiple journey QR ticket button on the phone screen.

2.

Read the terms and conditions and click accept to proceed.

3.

Add balance to start using the MJQRT.

4.

Enter the amount you want to top up and click ‘pay now’.

5.

Choose your desired payment option and complete the payment.

6.

Once payment is successful, you are ready to use the MJQRT.

7.

To use the QR code, click on the QR code button.

For added security and peace of mind, the MJQRT feature offers recoverability. If a person’s mobile phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, the remaining balance will remain intact. Passengers can continue using the MJQRT by logging in on another device.

This new feature from the DMRC is a significant step towards making metro travel in Delhi more convenient and efficient. The MJQRT not only simplifies the ticketing process but also provides cost-effective travel options for passengers. With its user-friendly interface and flexible recharge options, the MJQRT is poised to become a popular choice for Delhiites seeking a hassle-free and affordable commuting experience.
