Delhi Police Arrests Suspect in Amit Shah Doctored Video Case

The Delhi Police have apprehended Arun Reddy, an individual purportedly responsible for managing the ‘Spirit of Congress’ X account, in connection with the doctored video case involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This video, which was falsified to portray Shah as advocating the elimination of reservations, was investigated by the IFSO unit of the Delhi Police.

Reddy’s arrest came after the Delhi Police previously issued summons to four members of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) in connection with the incident. However, Reddy’s lawyer, Saumya Gupta, maintains that the pertinent account is not affiliated with the Telangana Chief Minister.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police initiated an FIR after receiving a complaint from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), regarding the doctored video of Amit Shah. The complaint alleged that Shah’s statements, which originally indicated a commitment to upholding quotas for Muslims in Telangana based on religious grounds, had been altered to convey a false message of scrapping all reservations.
