In view of heightened communal tensions, Delhi Police has taken robust security measures for the upcoming Hanuman Jayanti shobha yatra in Jahangirpuri. This action stems from a communal clash that occurred during last year’s procession in the same area. The police have deployed paramilitary forces and intensified security arrangements throughout the National Capital, especially in areas expecting shobha yatras.
A senior police officer emphasized the strict enforcement of the law and order situation, stating, “We have implemented a robust security plan and will confine the procession to a limited area. Police and paramilitary forces will maintain a vigilant presence.”
The officer warned of severe consequences for any breach of law and order. “We have alerted all SHOs in the Northwest district and instructed them to monitor any potential distress signals. They have been directed to respond promptly and visit the scene of any such incidents. We have also notified the fire department to remain on standby.”
