Delhi Police Visits AAP MP Swati Maliwal’s Residence over Assault Allegations

The Delhi Police, acting on the alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, visited her residence to collect details of the incident, which reportedly took place at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. The police team spent over four hours at Maliwal’s house in connection with the alleged assault by Delhi CM’s aide. Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha president Richa Pandey Mishra wrote to Maliwal, requesting her to provide complete details of the incident to the Police to ensure stringent action against the accused. Bibhav Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary, was questioned by the Delhi Police on Monday. According to AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Maliwal visited Kejriwal’s residence to meet him, and while waiting in the drawing room, Kumar misbehaved with her. The incident has drawn condemnation, and Kejriwal has assured strict action. The police registered a case based on Maliwal’s allegations, and Kumar is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2024, at 11 am. Despite reporters’ attempts to question Kejriwal about the incident during a joint press conference, he remained silent. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who was present at the press conference, dismissed the query, stating that other issues were more important.
