Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threats

Several schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) have received bomb threats via mail, triggering an investigation by Delhi Fire Services. According to officials, the threats were received on May 1st. However, police officials have stated that nothing suspicious has been discovered during their inspections of the schools. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of New Delhi, Devesh Kumar Mahla, reassured the public that there is no need for panic and that all schools have been thoroughly checked. Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has directed the Delhi Police to conduct a comprehensive search of school premises, identify the culprits, and ensure no security lapses. He has also appealed to parents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities to guarantee the safety of children and educational institutions. The following schools have been named as potential targets: Amity School in Pushp Vihar, Army Public School, DPS International School, BGS Vijnatham School in Dwarka, DPS schools in Dwarka, East of Kailash, Knowledge Park 5, Noida, RK Puram, Sector 122, and Vasant Vihar, G D Goenka in Dwarka, Guru Harkrishan Public School in Delhi, Mother Mary’s School in Mayur Vihar, Salwan Public School in Delhi, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, and St. Thomas’ Girls Senior Secondary School.
