Shivam Mishra, hailing from Delhi, has achieved the prestigious All India Rank (AIR) 1 position in the CA Final examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in May 2024. Mishra’s remarkable feat is a testament to his unwavering dedication and hard work, earning him an impressive score of 83.33% (500 marks out of 600). His achievement represents the culmination of years of focused study, culminating in his successful clearance of both Group 1 and Group 2 of the CA Final exam in his very first attempt.
Mishra’s academic excellence extends beyond the recent CA Final exam. He secured a commendable AIR 50 in the CA Foundation exam (2019) and followed it up with an AIR 20 in the CA Intermediate exam (2020). The son of a priest and astrologer, Mishra completed his schooling at KVS Sainik Vihar, laying the foundation for his impressive educational journey. In 2019, he embarked on his CA coaching journey, marking a significant step toward his career aspirations and professional development. Interestingly, Mishra’s is the first generation in his family to step out of their traditional background in astrology, performing pujas, and conducting kathas.
In an interview with a media house, Mishra shared his journey, highlighting that his family lacked a professional background. Despite this, he remained focused on his goals, attributing his success to a well-structured study plan, consistent practice, and a firm grasp of fundamental concepts. His disciplined approach and deep understanding of the subject matter proved instrumental in his achievements.
During his school years, particularly in classes 8th and 9th, Mishra admitted to being a backbencher. However, he recognized the importance of focused learning and sought to enhance his CA preparation by enrolling in an online coaching program. This proved to be a convenient choice, especially considering his training at BSR-KPMG BIG4. Mishra appreciated the flexibility of accessing recorded lessons after office hours, which significantly improved his study routine and saved him valuable travel time.
This CA Final champion emphasized the importance of consistent revision and dedicated the last five-and-a-half months of his preparation to revisiting topics and taking mock tests. During this period, Mishra ensured he revised each topic four times. While he didn’t create his own notes, he relied on the notes provided by the coaching institute and the ICAI study materials. This topper firmly believes that consistency and determination are key to success. He underscores the need to stay consistent, warning that taking multiple breaks can hinder progress.
