According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s maximum temperature is expected to rise to 40 degrees Celsius within the next three days. Heatwave conditions are not anticipated, despite the increase in temperature. Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist and head of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi, stated that a new western disturbance is approaching northwest India but will have negligible impact on the capital. As a result, Delhi will experience clear skies in the coming week with no predicted rainfall.
The highest maximum temperature recorded in 2023 was 40.6 degrees Celsius on April 14th. In 2022, it reached 43.5 degrees Celsius; in 2021, it peaked at 42.2 degrees Celsius; and in 2020, it reached 40.1 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded so far this summer season is 39.4 degrees Celsius on April 20th.
On Monday, Delhi’s minimum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of year. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius.
