Delta Raises Pay for Nonunion Employees After Strong Earnings

In a statement shared online, Delta CEO Ed Bastian emphasized the airline’s commitment to investing in its employees, crediting them for the company’s success. The recent pay raises mark a continuation of Delta’s efforts to increase compensation for its workforce, with a 20-25% increase since 2022.

In addition to base pay increases, Delta employees also received a $1.4 billion profit-sharing payout in February 2023, representing a jump from the previous year. Last year, Delta achieved significant profitability, outpacing its competitors combined.

While only 20% of Delta’s workforce is unionized, the flight attendants’ union has made several unsuccessful attempts to organize and increase union membership among Delta employees.
