Auckland Airport is facing significant disruptions on Tuesday evening as dense fog blankets the area, causing multiple flight cancellations and delays. Air New Zealand has reported that ten domestic departures and four arrivals have been canceled due to the adverse weather conditions. In addition to these cancellations, several main trunk domestic flights have also been delayed. This includes three flights from Christchurch, one from Wellington, and another from Queenstown, leaving travelers uncertain about their travel schedules.
Despite the challenges faced by domestic flights, international flights remain unaffected by the fog. Earlier in the day, the situation was equally challenging, with 45 regional flights canceled and 44 others delayed as the fog restrictions came into effect at 2:40 AM. The persistent fog has caused considerable inconvenience to passengers traveling through Auckland Airport.
MetService, New Zealand’s meteorological service, highlighted the extent of the fog in a post on social media, describing it as a “foggy morning for some.” Travelers have been advised to stay informed about their flight status by checking the Auckland Airport website or using its app for the latest updates on arrivals and departures.
