Denver Broncos Debut New Uniforms: A Modern Homage to Heritage
After donning the same uniforms for over a quarter-century, the Denver Broncos have unveiled a bold and contemporary redesign for the 2024 season. The innovative uniforms, aptly named “The Mile High Collection,” aim to honor the team’s illustrious past while embracing a modern aesthetic that reflects the spirit of the Rocky Mountain region.
Key features of the new uniforms include the elimination of the iconic Nike swoosh stripes that have adorned the team’s jerseys since 1997. In their place, a more understated approach has been adopted, with subtle triangular stripes adorning the shoulders and a clean, block-style design for the numbers on the front and back of the jersey. The team’s commitment to fan involvement is evident in the incorporation of mountain peak patterns on the jersey sleeves, paying tribute to Colorado’s breathtaking landscapes.
The helmets also receive a makeover, with a metallic satin matte finish in navy and a matching facemask. The team’s current logo remains prominent, but with a 15% reduction in size. A “5280” insignia, representing Denver’s altitude, is now displayed on the bottom of the helmets. The alternate helmet features a striking white finish with two dark blue stripes running down the back, matching the all-blue uniform combination.
The pants come in all three team colors – orange, white, and navy – and offer interchangeable options. Thin stripes adorn the pants, a departure from the bolder Nike swooshes of the past. A “5280” is centered on the stripe, further emphasizing the team’s connection to Denver.
The Broncos’ dedication to fan participation was paramount throughout the design process. Input was gathered from players, staff, head coach Sean Payton, and over 10,000 fans via a survey. The feedback overwhelmingly indicated a desire for new uniforms while preserving the team’s signature orange color and logo.
Fans are invited to celebrate the launch of the new uniforms at a special event on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the team store at Empower Field at Mile High. The team store will be open all day for fans to purchase the latest Broncos gear and commemorate this exciting chapter in the team’s history.
