Devotees gathered in Tiruchi on Monday to witness and participate in the Chithirai car festival of the Arulmigu Thayumanaswami temple. The festival, which began on April 13, culminated in the car festival on Monday.
The highlight of the festival was the decorated cars of Lord Thayumanaswami and Goddess Mattuvaar Kuzhalammai. Devotees pulled the Swami Ther (car of Lord Thayumanaswami) and Ambal Ther (car of Goddess Mattuvaar Kuzhalammai) through the streets of Tiruchi, accompanied by traditional music and chanting.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi also participated in the event, pulling the temple car alongside devotees. The Chithirai festival concludes on April 27.
