The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is getting ready for its busiest summer ever, starting with the Memorial Day weekend, which is expected to attract 1.5 million travelers. The five-day holiday period, spanning from Thursday, May 23 to Tuesday, May 28, is projected to witness almost a 10% increase in travelers compared to the same period last year. The peak day is anticipated to be Friday, May 24, with an estimated 260,000 passengers. “Our more than 300 volunteer Ambassadors and professional Airport Customer Experience Specialists (ACES) are prepared to assist travelers with advice, resources, and everything required for a seamless journey through DFW,” said Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President of Revenue Management and Customer Experience. “The airport’s website and mobile app provide valuable tools for checking security wait times, pre-booking parking, ordering meals, and more.” DFW anticipates that approximately 25 million passengers will pass through the airport between May and July, marking a 10 percent rise compared to the corresponding period last year. Throughout the three-month summer travel season, an average of over 268,000 passengers is expected daily. For an optimal experience, travelers are encouraged to visit DFW’s Travel Tips and register for a MyDFW account. This offers personalized information, including parking preferences and exclusive deals. Due to the anticipated high demand for parking, Terminals C and D are likely to fill up first. Passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours prior to their departure time and consider pre-booking parking online, including the recently reopened Remote North lot. For American Airlines passengers, parking, check-in, baggage drop, and security clearance are also accessible at Terminals A or B in case the garages are full. All five terminals are easily accessible via the Skylink train.
