Diamond-Encrusted Water Bottle to be Auctioned for $910,000

Get ready for a splash of extravagance! A water bottle unlike any other is set to be auctioned off for a whopping $910,000 (approximately R$5 million) in November 2024. This isn’t just any bottle; it’s adorned with 280 dazzling diamonds, silver, and 18-karat gold, making it a true collector’s item.

The brainchild of Brazilian company Ô Amazon Air Water, in collaboration with Tanjô Jewelry and Atlantis Intelligence Lab, this exquisite creation is being dubbed ‘Victoria Amazonica.’ The water inside is marketed as ‘the purest water on the planet,’ extracted from the ‘flying rivers’ – humid air masses that pass through the Amazon rainforest and influence rainfall across Brazil.

This extravagant auction isn’t just about luxury; it’s about giving back. A portion of the proceeds – R$1.5 million – will be dedicated to supporting ten socio-environmental projects for the riverside community of Barcelos in the Amazon interior. These initiatives, developed by the Ô Amazon Air Water Social Institute, aim to empower local communities through projects like promoting female entrepreneurship, training chefs and mechanics, safeguarding the rainforest, boosting tourism, and expanding access to cinema.

The water itself is a premium product, free of chlorine, preservatives, and sodium, meeting the high standards of the Fine Water Society, a global organization that unites gourmet water producers and hosts international tasting competitions.

The water that will be auctioned was collected on a full moon night, inspiring its name, Victoria Amazonica. According to the Tupi-Guarani legend, the indigenous girl Naiá jumped into the river to see the moon’s reflection and drowned, transforming into a star in the waters and giving birth to the Victoria Amazonica plant. The extraction process involved using a special device that condenses the vapor from the ‘flying rivers.’

This auction promises to be a unique blend of luxury, sustainability, and community empowerment, offering a glimpse into the future of water conservation and the fascinating world of gourmet water.
