For Diet Coke lovers, those iconic red and silver cans are a familiar sight. Over the years, we’ve seen celebrities like Whitney Houston, Matt Damon, and Kate Moss enjoying a sip, and recently, Jamie Dornan was announced as the new face of the brand. But this October, the cans are getting a stylish makeover – they’re going pink!
Asda’s Tickled Pink Campaign is back for its 28th year, celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And this year, they’ve enlisted Diet Coke to join the cause. The Insta-worthy rosy cans have been a hit with shoppers, sending them rushing to Asda to snag these limited-edition beauties.
One customer, @milliegrims, shared a video on TikTok of herself buying a multipack, exclaiming, “Oh my god, girls, run to Asda. Obsessed – and for such an amazing cause.” Millie’s video went viral, racking up 2 million views and a wave of enthusiastic comments. Even Pepsi fans were charmed! One commenter, @fl0o_13, wrote, “I’m a Pepsi girl, but this is too cute.”
The pink Diet Coke cans are just one part of Asda’s broader Tickled Pink campaign. Over 200 brands have joined the effort, turning their packaging pink to show their support. You’ll find everything from Heinz Baked Beans to Walkers Crisps, Aero Strawberry Melts, Marmite, Shreddies cereal, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, and Jamie Dodgers, all sporting a rosy hue.
This campaign isn’t just about cute packaging; it’s about making a real difference. For 28 years, Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign has raised an incredible £92 million for breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!. Participating brands are donating a portion of their sales to these charities, and some items will even include vital breast awareness information on their packaging, highlighting the importance of regular breast self-checks.
Asda is sweetening the deal for customers, offering £1 back in their cash pot for purchasing four Tickled Pink products. Kris Comerford, Asda’s chief merchandising officer, said, “We are proud to have so many of our suppliers supporting this year’s Tickled Pink campaign and turning their iconic brands pink. It’s set to be one of our biggest ever years, with over 200 products available both in stores and online, giving customers the opportunity to donate by purchasing everyday household and clothing items.”
Rachael Franklin, director of fundraising, communications, and engagement at Breast Cancer Now, shared her enthusiasm for the campaign, stating, “It’s incredible to see so many amazing brands turning pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, helping us to raise vital awareness and funds for breast cancer treatments, vital education and life-changing support. This year marks the 28th year of our Asda Tickled Pink partnership with over £92 million raised – which is a fantastic achievement and enables us to make a huge difference for the 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.”
So, next time you’re at Asda, look for those pink products and show your support for a great cause. The Tickled Pink campaign is a wonderful way to raise awareness about breast cancer, support research and charities, and embrace the power of pink while enjoying your favorite brands.
