Dieter Vranckx is set to become the new chairperson of the board at SN Airholding, the parent company of Brussels Airlines. He will be replacing Christina Foerster, who is departing from the Lufthansa Group. Vranckx brings a wealth of experience in the aviation industry to this role, having previously served as CEO of Brussels Airlines.
Born in Belgium in 1973, Vranckx holds a commercial engineering degree and an MBA from Solvay Business School in Brussels. His aviation career began in 1998 at Sabena as a Management Trainee. He then held various positions at Swiss and Lufthansa before joining Brussels Airlines in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer. He later ascended to the role of Chief Executive Officer. In 2021, he became CEO at Swiss, another airline within the Lufthansa Group.
Recently, the Lufthansa Group announced Vranckx’s upcoming inclusion in the Executive Board of the Lufthansa Group, where he will oversee Global Markets and Commercial Steering Hubs starting July 1. Alongside this role, he will also assume the chairmanship of Brussels Airlines.
“Brussels Airlines has been an important part of my career, and I am happy to return as chairperson to the board of SN Airholding. It’s wonderful to see how far Brussels Airlines has come, and what an exciting future this airline has ahead,” said Vranckx.
Owned entirely by SN Airholding since 2016, Brussels Airlines is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group.
