DigiYatra’s Face-Scan Biometric Technology Transforms Airport Experience in Karnataka
Bengaluru, June 9, 2024:
Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) and several other airports across Karnataka, including Bajpe International Airport, Hubballi Airport, Belagavi Airport, Kalaburagi Airport, Jindal Vijayanagara Airport, Mysuru Airport, and Bidar Airport, have collaborated to introduce India’s first biometric-enabled self-bag drop facility. This innovative system is powered by DigiYatra’s facial recognition technology.Previously, passengers utilizing the self-bag drop service were required to print their boarding pass at self-check-in kiosks and scan it to initiate the bag drop process. With the implementation of DigiYatra’s face-scan biometric technology, domestic travelers can now effortlessly navigate these airports without the need for a physical boarding pass or ID card.
The integration of advanced digital solutions, such as this biometric-enabled self-bag drop, is part of a comprehensive effort to provide a seamless and efficient journey for passengers. This technology significantly reduces wait times, allowing travelers to experience a more convenient and enjoyable airport experience.
The partnership between BIAL and DigiYatra underscores the commitment to harnessing innovative technologies to revolutionize the air travel experience for domestic passengers in Karnataka.
