India’s Diksha Dagar had a stellar third round at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, firing a bogey-free 4-under 69 to move up to T-31 from T-55. Her round included four birdies between the sixth and twelfth holes, putting her at 4-under for the tournament. This strong performance comes after modest results at the Olympic Games and missing the cut at the AIG Women’s Open, making a good finish in Ireland crucial for restoring her confidence. Dagar’s resurgence comes after her victories at the Czech Ladies Open and a third-place finish at the Hero Women’s Indian Open last year.
Meanwhile, the other three Indian golfers, Pranavi Urs, Tvesa Malik, and Ridhima Dilawari, unfortunately missed the cut.
In a thrilling turn of events, England’s Annabel Dimmock delivered a spectacular bogey-free 65 (-8), securing the best round of the week and propelling her into the top spot with one day remaining. Dimmock started strong with a birdie on the first hole and continued her momentum with further birdies on holes four, seven, and nine. She added another birdie on the 10th before finishing in style with three birdies in her final four holes, placing her at 16-under-par.
The day saw a record-breaking number of spectators, with 12,051 fans attending the tournament – the highest single-day attendance since the event returned to the LET calendar in 2022.
Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom, who held the 36-hole lead, posted a solid round of 69 (-4) on day three, placing her two shots behind the leader. Italy’s Alessandra Fanali and Spain’s Luna Sobron Galmes sit in shared third place on 12-under-par after both carded a 70 (-3).
On the Asian Tour, Saptak Talwar is on the verge of his first Top-10 finish after a strong performance at the Mandiri Indonesia Open. Talwar, who is a regular on the PGTI, carded a 3-under 68 to place himself tied-13th after three rounds at 9-under 204.
Other Indian players in the tournament include Veer Ahlawat (T-23), Khalin Joshi (T-41), SSP Chawrasia (T-48), and Gaganjeet Bhullar (T-57). Indian-American Manav Shah, a winner on the PGA Tour Latin American, is also T-41.
