DIRECTV continues to enhance its streaming service by adding seven popular channels through licensing agreements with Cineverse Corp. and Scripps Networks.
Cineverse Channels
Cineverse contributes several channels to DIRECTV’s lineup, including:
– The Bob Ross Channel: Featuring the beloved artist’s calming painting tutorials
– Comedy Dynamics: Showcasing a variety of stand-up comedy specials and series
– Dove Channel: Offering family-friendly programming
– Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Providing expert advice on dog training and behavior
– MeatEater TV: Covering outdoor lifestyle and hunting
Scripps Networks Channels
Scripps Networks expands DIRECTV’s news and legal content with:
– Court TV: Delivering in-depth coverage of crime and trials
– Scripps News: Providing up-to-date news and information
Rebecca Nelson, DIRECTV’s Senior Vice President of Content and Programming, highlights the enhanced customer experience these new channels aim to provide. Customers can now explore a broader range of genres and delve deeper into their interests. The agreement with Cineverse opens up the possibility of adding more channels in the future, further diversifying the streaming lineup.
This latest expansion builds upon DIRECTV’s recent addition of several other channels for streaming customers. The Cineverse agreement adds nearly 4,000 hours of on-demand content across various genres, enriching the entertainment options available to DIRECTV subscribers.
Marc Rashba, Cineverse EVP Partnerships, expresses the company’s excitement about the expanded reach of their channels. They anticipate connecting with existing fans and attracting new audiences for their diverse content offerings.
These channels are accessible to DIRECTV customers subscribing to the Entertainment package or above who stream their content. Satellite customers can also access them through the DIRECTV App.
Other potential channels from Cineverse’s portfolio that may be added to DIRECTV’s lineup in the future include EntrepreneurTV, 9 Story Presents: Garfield and Friends, SCREAMBOX TV, So…Real, The Lone Star Channel, Real Madrid Channel, The Film Detective, RetroCrush, AsianCrush, Midnight Pulp, and Sid & Marty Krofft Channel.
