Domino’s Pizza has issued an urgent nationwide recall for two of its popular dips, Garlic & Herb and Honey & Mustard, after discovering traces of peanuts in some batches. The recall, announced over the weekend, affects both the larger 100g ‘Big Dip’ pots and the smaller 25g pots typically included with pizzas.
The pizza giant was prompted to act after the University of Lincoln Students’ Union realized that potentially affected Garlic & Herb dip might have been included in goodie bags they were distributing. The SU swiftly issued a warning, advising those with peanut allergies to discard the dip immediately.
In an email to customers, Domino’s emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that the safety of their customers is paramount, especially when it comes to allergens. They acknowledged the presence of peanut traces in some batches of both dips and stressed the importance of disposing of any affected product if you have a peanut allergy.
A Domino’s spokesperson further explained that the company has withdrawn all affected dips from sale and is working closely with their supplier to investigate how the contamination occurred. They apologized for the inconvenience caused by the disruption in dip supply and assured customers that they are taking steps to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
Domino’s urges all customers with peanut allergies to check their dip containers and discard any Garlic & Herb or Honey & Mustard dips immediately. The company is committed to ensuring the safety of their products and appreciates customers’ understanding during this recall.
