Don McLean Slams Prince Harry’s Elvis Presley Comments

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Don McLean expressed his disapproval of Prince Harry’s remarks about Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland, in his memoir, ‘Spare.’ McLean stated that Harry’s comments revealed a lack of understanding of Elvis’s significance as the ‘poor man’s monarch.’ He emphasized that Elvis rose from humble beginnings and achieved immense success through his music, making him a revered figure among ordinary Americans.

McLean pointed out that Harry’s criticism of Graceland, comparing it to Buckingham Palace, missed the point of Elvis’s residence. He reminded Harry that he is a guest in America and should refrain from criticizing the country while living there.

McLean’s comments come after Harry officially listed the United States as his primary residence on documents related to his sustainable travel venture, Travalyst. In a previous interview with Good Morning America, Harry had expressed uncertainty about obtaining American citizenship, stating that it was not a priority for him at the time.

McLean’s criticism has reignited his feud with Prince Harry, which began in 2022 when Harry sparked outrage among Elvis fans by calling Graceland ‘dark and claustrophobic.’ McLean had previously written an open letter to Harry, criticizing him for his comments and accusing him of being out of touch with America.
