Donovan Catholic, one of New Jersey’s top softball teams, showcased their offensive and defensive prowess on Thursday, crushing Manchester Township 16-0 in a shortened four-inning contest. Leading the charge for the Griffins was Christina Ginex, who went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in a game-high five runs with two doubles. Her stellar performance set the tone for Donovan Catholic’s offensive onslaught, which also saw a towering home run from Sophia Senger, who finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs. In the circle, Dani Rodriguez was equally impressive, teaming up with Senger to limit Manchester Township to just two hits and striking out eight batters. Rodriguez’s strong outing secured the victory for Donovan Catholic, who improved their record to 7-2 on the season. Meanwhile, Manchester Township dropped to 2-7 with the loss. Caitlin Lynch recorded both hits for the Hawks.
