A man in Silchar, Assam, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, caused chaos on Friday night when he rampaged through the town in his SUV, injuring 15 people. The incident sparked fear and panic among residents as the driver recklessly collided with pedestrians and vehicles.
The SUV’s rampage began near the municipal office where it hit three individuals. In a desperate attempt to flee, the driver continued his destructive path, injuring another three people at Capital Point. The reckless driving didn’t stop there, as the vehicle proceeded to strike three motorbikes and several e-rickshaws at Trunk Road near the radio station.
As the driver’s rampage continued, alarmed citizens followed the SUV on their two-wheelers, witnessing the chaos unfold. The vehicle’s destructive spree finally came to a halt at Tennis Club Point due to the poor condition of the road, preventing further movement.
Police arrived at the scene promptly and apprehended the driver, taking the SUV into custody. Upon inspection of the vehicle, authorities discovered several bottles of liquor, confirming their suspicions of the driver’s intoxication. A police officer confirmed that a total of 15 people suffered injuries during the incident.
