Dubai International Airport (DXB) Resumes Normal Operations After Heavy Rainfall

Dubai Airports has made significant progress in restoring and normalizing operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) after the UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years.

DXB has returned to its regular flight schedule since April 19th, ahead of its recovery timeline, and is now handling approximately 1,400 flight movements per day. All roads in and around the airport are now clear of water accumulation, and manpower, logistics, and facilities are operating as usual.

To ensure the welfare of guests during the disruption, over 75,000 food packs were delivered to both DXB and Dubai World Central (DWC). While there are still some challenges remaining, including processing the baggage backlog, Dubai Airports is working closely with its service partners to resolve them.

Dubai Airports expressed its sadness for the ongoing impact of the heavy rainfall on communities and businesses across the UAE and stated that it will continue to support its employees and the community wherever possible.

Guests are advised to arrive at their terminal three hours before their flight departure to prevent unnecessary congestion and ensure smoother operations.
