Dubai’s Dynamic Growth Journey Unfolds at Arabian Travel Market
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced a series of transformative projects that will propel Dubai to new heights as a global tourism destination, economic engine, and transportation hub. These initiatives are in line with the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who has consistently driven the emirate’s progress.
At a meeting of The Executive Council held during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the emirate’s unwavering commitment to investing in the future. “Dubai is building for tomorrow and leading global tourism,” he said. “We are committed to fostering balanced economic and social development by placing people at the heart of progress and engaging the community in shaping its future.”
The Executive Council discussed the remarkable performance of Dubai’s tourism sector across various domains, including leisure, cultural, eco, and medical tourism, as well as conferences and events. Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, presented a report showcasing strong growth trends in these areas.
In line with the D33 economic agenda, the Council approved the Commercial Transport Strategy 2030, aiming to double the contribution of the commercial transport and logistics sector to the emirate’s economy. This strategy focuses on increasing technology integration, reducing carbon emissions, and improving efficiency.
To enhance the quality of life and support business efficiency, the Council approved a comprehensive Traffic Flow Improvement Plan. The plan aims to optimize public bus routes, encourage school transport usage to reduce congestion, and implement flexible work policies to alleviate traffic during peak hours.
Recognizing the importance of data-driven decision-making, the Executive Council adopted a strategic direction to establish Dubai as a leading destination for the future economy by boosting its data center economy. This involves developing high-performance computing systems, leveraging sustainable technologies, and preparing for AI and next-generation networking advancements.
The Council also endorsed the Community Participation Policy, fostering greater public involvement in shaping policy, legislation, and services. This policy promotes collaboration among stakeholders and aligns government actions with community needs to enhance service quality.
