Dubstar’s Sarah Blackman on 90s Nostalgia, Spice Girls, and Collaborations

Nearly three decades after Dubstar released their dreamy hit ‘Stars,’ frontwoman Sarah Blackman, now 52, looks like she’s barely aged a day. The singer, who joined the North East group in 1993, fondly remembers the band’s heyday. Fans shared their memories of the band, with one saying, ‘Remember it? How could I ever forget. This and Stars have stayed with me, all these years.’ Another gushed, ‘You’ve not aged a single second, gorgeous gorgeous Sarah! Eyes for days. Icon!’ Sarah recalls the 90s as an ‘insane’ time, with memorable moments that included meeting Björk and dismissing the Spice Girls before they achieved superstardom. In 2002, she formed electronic group Client with Kate Holmes, working with industry giants like Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore and The Libertines’ Carl Barât and Pete Doherty. Despite limited commercial success, Client had a memorable start, with Sarah performing in front of 45,000 Depeche Mode fans in Germany. Recently, Sarah reunited with Emma Anderson from the 90s band Lush, continuing her involvement in the music scene.
