Duleep Trophy Day 2: India C Takes Control, India A and India B Poised for a Close Contest

The second day of the Duleep Trophy’s opening round saw exciting developments across both matches, with India C gaining the upper hand against India D while India A and India B remain locked in a close contest.

India C Dominates with Suthar’s Heroics

Manav Suthar’s outstanding bowling performance propelled India C to a dominant position against India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. The left-arm orthodox spinner picked up four wickets in his final five overs, sending India D’s tail into a spin. He finished the day with a five-wicket haul, transforming the match from a potential India D victory into a comfortable lead for India C.

Suthar’s most significant dismissal was that of Ricky Bhui, whom he trapped leg-before just three deliveries after Bhui had hit a six over long on. This decisive moment shifted the momentum completely in India C’s favor.

India A and India B Remain Tightly Contested

The Duleep Trophy encounter between India-A and India-B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru remains finely balanced as both teams head into day 3. After India-B folded for 321 runs in the post-lunch session, India-A reached 134 for two by the close of play.

Riyan Parag (27 not out) and K.L. Rahul (23 not out) will be looking to build on their respective starts on day 3, with their team’s hopes resting on their shoulders. Skipper Shubman Gill (25) and Mayank Agarwal (36) provided a solid foundation for India A, putting on 57 runs for the opening wicket.
