Dunn-Edwards Expands in Northern California, Acquires Former Kelly Moore Stores

Dunn-Edwards Paints is poised to fill the void left by the sudden closure of Kelly Moore Paints in Northern California. The paint retailer plans to open 17 new stores in the region, including 10 in the Bay Area. This expansion will increase Dunn-Edwards’ footprint in Northern California by more than 50%.

The new stores will be located in former Kelly Moore retail locations and will employ approximately 125 people, mostly former Kelly Moore employees. The expansion aims to provide relief to those affected by the abrupt closure and build trust with new and existing customers in the years to come.

In the Bay Area, Dunn-Edwards will open stores in San Jose, Oakland, Cupertino, Fremont, San Ramon, Brentwood, Albany, Gilroy, Redwood City, and San Francisco. The retailer is also planning to acquire former Kelly Moore retail locations in Santa Cruz and Seaside in Monterey County.

Dunn-Edwards’ expansion is a welcome addition to the Northern California paint market, providing customers with a wider range of options and supporting the painting industry in the region.
