Kabeer Biswas, the founder of one of India’s most well-known startups, Dunzo, is currently facing a difficult period. The company, which was started as a WhatsApp group and is now valued at Rs 6400 crore, is backed by Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India. However, Dunzo has been going through a tough time lately. The company, which was founded in 2014 by Biswas, has seen a number of high-profile exits in recent months, including its finance director and two co-founders. Dunzo has also repeatedly delayed paying its employees over the past year. In FY23, the company reported a loss of Rs 1,800 crore, a 288 per cent increase from the previous year.
Biswas, who is not the sole founder of Dunzo but was the driving force behind the idea of starting a company out of a WhatsApp group, has a diverse professional background. Before Dunzo, he worked in a plastic factory in Silvassa and in sales and customer service at Airtel. He also has an engineering degree in computer science. His varied experience has served him well in his entrepreneurial journey.
Despite the challenges that Dunzo is currently facing, Biswas remains optimistic about the future of the company. He believes that the company’s strong foundation and the support of its investors will help it to weather the storm and emerge stronger than ever before.
