The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather forecasts for various parts of the country, predicting a range of conditions including dust storms, heavy rainfall, and heatwaves.
According to the IMD, Delhi is likely to experience a dust storm today, accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning with wind speeds of 40-60 kmph. The weather agency has also forecast heat wave conditions in isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka and Konkan coasts can expect very heavy rainfall from Friday onwards. Other parts of the country, such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh, are likely to experience scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds.
The hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are forecast to receive isolated to scattered light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds.
In addition, the IMD has predicted heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand till 9 June. Uttar Pradesh is very likely to witness severe heatwave in some parts till 9 June.
