Get ready for a Christmas adventure like no other! Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for ‘Red One,’ an action-comedy that sees Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans joining forces to save Santa Claus.
Johnson stars as Callum Drift, a commander in the E.L.F. (Elite Law Enforcement Force) who is responsible for protecting Santa (J.K. Simmons). However, this Santa is far from the jolly, obese figure we’re accustomed to. In ‘Red One,’ Santa is physically strong and fit, a departure from traditional depictions.
The trailer reveals that Santa has been abducted from the North Pole Complex, prompting Callum’s team to recruit Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans), the world’s best tracker and a “Level 4 Naughty Lister.” Despite their differences, Callum and Jack must work together to find Santa and save Christmas.
‘Red One’ also features a star-studded cast, including Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, and Bonnie Hunt.
The film is directed by Jake Kasdan, who previously collaborated with Johnson on the ‘Jumanji’ franchise. Chris Morgan wrote the screenplay based on an original story by Hiram Garcia. Johnson, Garcia, Kasdan, Melvin Mar, and Dany Garcia serve as producers.
Originally slated for a Prime Video streaming debut during the 2023 Christmas season, ‘Red One’ faced delays due to Hollywood work stoppages. The film will now receive a theatrical release on November 15, 2024. Get ready for a holiday action-packed adventure when ‘Red One’ hits theaters!
