EACON Mining has taken a significant step forward in its mission to revolutionize mining with its latest venture: a partnership with BAOWU’s Xichang Mining to automate operations at the Taihe Iron Mine. This marks EACON’s entry into the iron ore sector, a strategic expansion from its existing focus on coal, aggregate, and gold mining.

The project will see the automation of 6 SANY electric mining trucks, each boasting a 70-ton payload capacity, further solidifying EACON’s position as a leader in sustainable autonomous mining solutions. This is the first phase of a larger automation plan, with a full site rollout expected after successful implementation.

EACON’s Autonomous Haulage Solution Takes Center Stage

At the heart of this project lies EACON’s flagship autonomous haulage solution (AHS), ORCASTRA®. This OEM-agnostic system is designed to seamlessly integrate with various mining equipment brands, making it a flexible and adaptable choice for diverse mining environments. For the Taihe Iron Mine, EACON will provide its ORCASTRA® Pilot system, which will be integrated into each of the SANY electric trucks, equipped with drive-by-wire systems meeting EACON’s stringent requirements and standards.
