Early Morning Fire Damages Two Antelope Homes, Displacing Occupants

A fire broke out in the Country Run Way area of Antelope on Wednesday morning, damaging two homes and displacing their occupants. Firefighters from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to the scene at around 10:26 a.m. and found heavy flames engulfing one house and spreading to another next door. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the blaze as possible arson and reported that a man with a knife was involved in an altercation with a squatter at the affected property, resulting in the squatter sustaining a knife wound.

Earlier in the day, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office had responded to a separate altercation between neighbors in the same area. The connection between these incidents and the fire remains unclear, but the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District stated that it did not hinder their efforts to extinguish the blaze. The man with the knife was arrested, although he does not live in the neighborhood.

The occupants of both houses were displaced as a result of the fire, which severely damaged the electrical box of the second home. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office continues to look into the altercation that occurred earlier in the day.
