Earthquake Jolts Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh with 3.1 Magnitude
The National Center for Seismology (NMS) has reported that an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter Scale occurred in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on May 28th at 6:43 am. The earthquake was felt in several areas of the district, including the town of Pithoragarh itself. However, no significant damage or injuries have been reported at this time.
According to the NMS, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers below the Earth’s surface. The earthquake was caused by the movement of tectonic plates in the region.
