EarthX Convenes Energy Leaders to Tackle Climate Crisis and Energy Demand

As the world grapples with the escalating climate crisis and soaring energy demand, finding innovative solutions to balance energy production and environmental preservation is more crucial than ever. EarthX, a global environmental non-profit, is tackling this critical challenge head-on with its Half-Earth Day® Conference on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX.

This one-day event, titled “Maximizing Energy, Minimizing Environmental Impact: Shaping a Policy and Regulatory Strategy for the Future of Energy,” will assemble top leaders from across the energy sector, legal community, government, business, and environmental stakeholders. Together, they will explore the future of energy, considering how upcoming November events might impact U.S. economic and regulatory policy.

The conference is designed to be highly interactive, fostering a dynamic conversation between speakers and attendees. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison will deliver the keynote luncheon address, setting the stage for an engaging exploration of the policy and regulatory frameworks that will shape the future of energy production and environmental protection.

The conference will delve into critical topics, including:

*

Determining an Appropriate Energy Mix:

What combination of energy sources holds the greatest potential to accelerate the transition to renewable energy?
*

Calibrating the Roles of Government and the Marketplace:

How will ESG and net-zero carbon policies, recent Supreme Court rulings (like Chevron) on government regulation, and technological and industrial innovation impact future energy production and distribution?
*

Maintaining Grid Reliability and Resilience:

How will new innovations and investments in storage, infrastructure, disaster response, resilience, and smart metering shape the future of the energy grid?
*

Overcoming Barriers to Energy Production and Distribution:

What policy, permitting, infrastructure, and environmentally protective actions can be implemented to facilitate energy production and distribution?

This conversation will take place during Half-Earth Day®, EarthX’s celebration marking the mid-point to Earth Day. This event sets the stage for continued discussions at the Futures of Energy Conference, scheduled for Earth Day during Earthx2025 (April 21-25).

The Half-Earth Day® conference will offer networking opportunities, a luncheon keynote (speaker to be announced), and a unique off-site evening reception and celebration.
