Whitney Dean’s secret is out in EastEnders, as Zack Hudson demands answers after Britney Wainwright reveals the truth about how she came to be in their care.
Whitney first encountered Britney during a trip to Milton Keynes to visit Bianca Jackson, and was determined to protect the 12-year-old from her neglectful mother, Keeley. She even paid Keeley to take Britney off her hands, claiming that they were officially her foster parents.
However, Zack was horrified when Whitney returned to the Square with Britney in tow, and Lauren Branning knows what really happened in Milton Keynes. She has warned Whitney against lying to Zack again, urging her to come clean or face legal trouble and potentially lose everything.
Whitney has repeatedly promised to tell Zack the truth but has failed to do so, leading Lauren to threaten to do it for her. In Wednesday’s episode, Whitney’s worries about Britney’s Usher Syndrome diagnosis further delay her honesty.
Meanwhile, Britney attends her first day at school, which proves challenging due to bullying. Despite encouragement to leave the situation alone, Whitney confronts the bully and orders her to stay away from Britney.
Upon discovering Whitney’s defiance, Britney tells Zack that Whitney ‘stole’ her and that she’s not actually their foster daughter. Whitney returns home just as an irate Zack demands answers. Her response remains to be seen.
