Eco Waste Solutions Opens New Facility to Combat Toxic Burn Pits and Protect American Troops
In a significant step towards safer waste management in conflict zones, Eco Waste Solutions has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Batavia, New York. This facility is dedicated to producing Expeditionary Solid Waste Disposal Systems (ESWDS) for the United States Army, specifically designed to eliminate the reliance on burn pits. Burn pits have long been a source of toxic exposure for troops deployed overseas, resulting in a range of health issues, including cancer.
The grand opening of the facility drew a distinguished crowd, including members of the United States Military, City of Batavia and Genesee County officials, and representatives from state and federal offices. The event highlighted the importance of this initiative and the commitment of Eco Waste Solutions to developing innovative solutions for safer waste management in military operations.
The ESWDS technology represents the culmination of over a decade of research and development, incorporating thousands of operational hours and rigorous military testing. The resulting system is robust, capable, and easily transportable, set-up, and used, ensuring efficient and safe waste disposal in challenging environments.
“The health and safety of our personnel is of paramount importance, and the ESWDS manufactured by Eco Waste Solutions gives us a safe and critically important tool to address waste management in conflict zones,” said United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Reuben Joseph, Product Manager, Force Sustainment Systems Program Executive Office Combat Support & Combat Service Support.
Eco Waste Solutions anticipates hiring up to 30 employees at this new facility, boosting the local economy while contributing to the production and support of its groundbreaking technology. The facility is poised to become a hub of innovation, manufacturing, and engineering excellence, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable products.
“Today marks an important milestone for our company. The opening of this facility significantly enhances our production, support, and engineering capabilities; an investment that reflects our commitment to building high-quality, innovative, and sustainable products,” said Jean Lucas, President & Chief Executive Officer, Eco Waste Solutions. “We are proud to be doing this work and excited to be part of this vibrant community.”
Eco Waste Solutions has been a leading provider of thermal waste conversion solutions for over three decades. Their commitment to environmental protection is evident in their innovative technologies, which have diverted millions of tons of garbage from landfills, recovered valuable materials, and generated over half a million megawatts of energy. The company’s dedication to public health is evident in their efforts to protect communities from infectious disease and other hazards associated with traditional waste disposal methods.
The opening of this new facility signifies a crucial step in Eco Waste Solutions’ mission to provide sustainable, safe, and environmentally responsible waste management solutions.
