EcoFlow Unveils Home Energy Ecosystem with PowerOcean Plus at Intersolar

EcoFlow, a leading manufacturer of portable power sources and renewable energy solutions, unveiled its EcoFlow Home Energy Ecosystem at the Intersolar trade fair. This comprehensive system offers a wide range of energy products for households, including the latest addition to the PowerOcean series, PowerOcean Plus, and allows users to tailor their home energy solutions to their specific needs. In collaboration with Tibber, the EcoFlow PowerOcean also promotes the use of dynamic tariffs to maximize savings.

In today’s market, saturated with disjointed offerings from various brands, users are often burdened with managing multiple different applications and interfaces, making it difficult for them to effectively monitor energy consumption and efficiency. As a response to this challenge, EcoFlow introduces the EcoFlow Home Energy Ecosystem. This integrated suite of solutions includes its flagship PowerOcean series, PowerHeat and PowerGlow home heating solutions, PowerPulse electric vehicle charger, and a range of smart devices such as smart thermostats and smart plugs.

With its diverse product range, the EcoFlow Home Energy Ecosystem is prepared to meet the diverse needs of households, allowing for easy customization of energy solutions based on individual preferences while maximizing savings within a unified system. All elements of the EcoFlow Home Energy Ecosystem can be easily integrated and managed through a single interface via the user-friendly EcoFlow App. The app now includes a number of new features, including the Solar Energy Predictor for real-time solar energy production forecasts, Energy Command for automatic configuration of the PowerOcean system based on energy conditions, and the Dynamic Tariff Dashboard for making economically sound decisions about energy purchases on platforms such as Tibber.

Furthermore, EcoFlow expands its support with PowerInsight Home Energy Monitor and EcoFlow Web Portal, designed to streamline energy consumption monitoring and management in households. These sophisticated tools offer users impressive control capabilities, allowing them to track energy consumption in their homes, optimize system performance, and make informed decisions to increase efficiency and reduce costs. EcoFlow and Tibber, sharing a vision that technology should adapt to its users, have partnered to promote individualized energy independence and energy expenditure optimization for households. Through the direct connection of the PowerOcean series products with Tibber’s dynamic price tracking and energy consumption optimization algorithms, EcoFlow enables users to intelligently leverage fluctuating energy prices and maximize their savings.

EcoFlow app users gain access to the Dynamic Tariff Dashboard, which aggregates real-time price data. The Dynamic Tariff Dashboard then allows users to strategically set optimal times to purchase energy from the grid based on the most favorable rates. Additional features and deeper integration with the PowerOcean series will follow shortly in the Tibber app. Another interesting tool is the intelligent Smart Battery Plan system with dynamic daily regulation based on predicted energy prices and solar production to optimize savings or earnings. The selection of battery modes, such as “Own consumption” and “Earnings,” allows consumers to tailor their energy usage to their exact preferences. The app also offers continuous monitoring, historical logging, and real-time alerts or constant updates on energy status, ensuring users are always adequately informed and can adjust their energy consumption accordingly.

“In a world increasingly moving towards reducing dependence on the grid, the collaboration between EcoFlow and Tibber represents a revolutionary step forward in the field of intelligent home energy management,” said Ryan Xing, Head of the European Department at EcoFlow. “This partnership combines EcoFlow’s cutting-edge battery technology with Tibber’s dynamic price tracking and energy consumption management features, resulting in a revolutionary solution that allows users to optimize energy consumption more accurately and easily than ever before.”

“Our world of new energy today, with a growing share of renewable sources, fundamentally operates differently than our past based on fossil fuels. It is increasingly important to purchase electricity when it is ecological and affordable. Therefore, together with our partner EcoFlow, we have developed a progressive solution that takes care of this task,” says Merlin Lauenburg, Managing Director of Tibber Germany.

According to IHS, the home energy market saw a remarkable year-on-year increase in the use of 15-30kW hybrid inverters by 43% in 2022-2023, reflecting the growing demand from households for energy solutions that can efficiently power all household appliances, including electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps. At the same time, the need for systems that can adapt to complex roof setups and efficiently utilize solar energy with optimal efficiency is also rising.

In response to this growing demand, EcoFlow has introduced the PowerOcean Plus as a key component of its Home Energy Ecosystem. With its robust ability to deliver a maximum output of 29.9kW of alternating current, the PowerOcean Plus allows households to simultaneously power the entire house, maximizing the utilization of solar energy. With the ability to connect up to four photovoltaic strings and a maximum input power of 40kW, the PowerOcean Plus can adapt even to complex roof setups and ensure optimal utilization of available roof space, capturing every ray of sunlight. Notably, the unique inverter design with integrated CT (current transformer) eliminates the need for electricians to install a smart meter, reducing installation time by up to 40%. A single hybrid inverter can handle a battery capacity of up to 60kWh.

PowerOcean Plus prioritizes safety, and each battery block boasts a fire-resistant module, an aluminum cover with IP65 certification, and a sophisticated battery management system (BMS) for optimal safety, fire and mechanical impact resistance, setting the highest safety standards in the industry. PowerOcean Plus also supports dynamic tariffs that help users maximize savings, while seamlessly integrating with the EcoFlow home energy ecosystem for optimal energy utilization in the household.

EcoFlow provides installers with comprehensive support, offering a 15-year official warranty on PowerOcean lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries and the intuitive EcoFlow Pro app, streamlining commissioning processes and expanding diagnostic capabilities. EcoFlow’s post-sales support for installers includes a dedicated 24/7 hotline, individual chat assistance, and service surcharges. The EcoFlow Home Energy Ecosystem, including the PowerOcean series, is already available, and PowerOcean Plus will be available to order from October 2024. Distributors and installation companies interested in learning more can visit EcoFlow’s website for detailed offers and partnership opportunities.
