## Ecomondo 2024: Italy’s Leading Green Tech Hub Gears Up for Global Sustainability Summit
Get ready for a global gathering of green technology leaders, sustainability champions, and industry experts! Ecomondo, Italian Exhibition Group’s flagship event for the European green economy, is set to kick off its 2024 edition at the Rimini Expo Centre from November 5th to 8th. This year, the event promises to be even bigger and more impactful, attracting delegations from over 100 countries and 72 organizations, institutions, and associations worldwide.
A Global Hub for Green Innovation
Ecomondo has established itself as a crucial international platform for driving progress in the green economy. IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni emphasizes the event’s role as a “real community catalyst,” facilitating dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing that extends beyond the exhibition and continues throughout the year. The event will feature a diverse array of participants, including 650 hosted buyers from North Africa, Europe, North and Latin America, with a significant increase in attendees from Asia, particularly Central Asia, China, Southeast Asia, Pakistan, and India.
International Partnerships and Focus on Africa
Ecomondo’s success is driven by strong partnerships with key organizations, including the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The event’s international network extends beyond Italy, with Ecomondo actively involved in related events around the globe. For example, Ecomondo Mexico (March 5-7, 2025) will focus on the Latin American market, while Ecomondo China – CDEPE (March 27-29, 2025) will showcase environmental technologies in China.
Ecomondo 2024 places special emphasis on the African continent, aligning with the Italian government’s Mattei Plan. The event will host the 4th edition of the African Green Growth event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security and the Mission Structure for implementing the Mattei Plan. To date, 8 delegations from Africa and 104 buyers from Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Senegal, South Africa, and Kenya have confirmed their participation.
Fostering Local Entrepreneurship in Africa
Ecomondo’s commitment to empowering sustainable development in Africa is further demonstrated through its collaboration with the E4Impact Foundation. E4Impact operates in 20 African countries, providing MBA training, acceleration, incubation, and support programs for local entrepreneurs. Their “Business Networking Week in Italy” (Milan, November 4-8, 2024) will focus on the Circular Economy and include a visit to Ecomondo. This collaboration highlights the event’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation as drivers of sustainable economic growth in Africa.
Ecomondo 2024 is poised to be a pivotal event for advancing global sustainability initiatives. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and impact, the event will bring together stakeholders from around the world to drive progress toward a greener future.
