Edmonton Police Seek Public’s Help in Hit and Run Investigation

Edmonton police are appealing to the public for help in locating a vehicle involved in a serious hit and run incident in the city’s southwest last week. The incident occurred on June 14th, around 11:30 p.m. when a motorcyclist was traveling north on Haddow Drive near Haliburton Road. A BMW traveling in the same direction sideswiped the motorcycle, causing it to go down. The BMW then fled the scene.

The 24-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by EMS. Edmonton Police Service announced the details of the incident in a news release on Sunday.

Edmonton Police Service’s Major Collision Investigation Section has taken over the investigation. They are now searching for a red/maroon BMW 3 series from the late 1990s to early 2000s. The vehicle is distinguished by its white doors and is likely to have damage to the front of the car and the front passenger side.

Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect vehicle to contact EPS. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
