Ahead of Eid Al Adha 2024, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has instructed that government employees will have their June salaries credited early. The salaries will be credited on June 13, just before Eid ul Adha this year. Residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will also enjoy up to five days off for Eid Al Adha, depending on the Moon sighting. This allows employees to celebrate the festival with their families and loved ones.
In a first for the UAE, UAE residents can now pre-order their sacrificial animals on Careem and noon Minutes. Customers can place an order up until two days before Eid Al Adha, with delivery times ranging around ₹ 9,000- ₹ 49,000 (Dh400-Dh2150). Home delivery of ‘Qurbani’ meat is now available for the first time in the UAE.
“The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are pleased to see such strong demand for our offering,” Hussein Heiba, commercial lead at noon Minutes, told Khaleej Times.
Nearly one million residents have utilized noon Minutes’ Eid Al Adha section on the app. Groceries at Careem, on the other hand, has partnered with Dhabayeh Al Emarat.
In India, Eid ul Adha, often known as Bakrid, is celebrated by Muslims sacrificing an animal in accordance with Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. The sacrificial animal’s meat is typically distributed among family, friends, and those in need. Eid 2024 in India is anticipated to be celebrated on June 17.
