Weather Change in Delhi
Delhi witnessed a sudden shift in weather conditions on Tuesday, with rain providing respite from the sweltering heat that had gripped the city in April. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted temperatures to hover around 38 degrees Celsius in the coming days, with a chance of light rain. However, IMD Senior Scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar cautioned that temperatures in Eastern India could reach 44 degrees Celsius in the next 4-5 days.
Dr. Kumar further indicated that the heatwave conditions prevalent in East India were likely to persist in certain states for the upcoming 4-5 days. Meanwhile, he stated that temperatures in Northwest India, including Delhi, were not anticipated to approach or exceed 41 degrees Celsius.
Ongoing Heatwave Situation
The IMD’s senior scientist in Delhi highlighted that East India is currently experiencing a heatwave, which is projected to continue in some states for the next 4-5 days.
