Elderly Man Killed by Speeding Audi in Noida, Caught on CCTV

CCTV footage captured the tragic event in Noida’s Sector 24 on May 26 at 6:30 a.m. The victim, Janak Dev Shah, was seen attempting to cross the road near the Kanchenjunga Apartment when a speeding Audi struck him. The impact caused Shah to be propelled several feet before landing on the road, resulting in his immediate death.

The incident has drawn attention to a series of similar accidents involving luxury vehicles in the region. In a previous incident on May 19, a Porsche allegedly driven by an intoxicated teenager hit two software engineers in Pune, killing Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta. In January, a 30-year-old man riding a scooter in Noida’s Sector 37 underpass was involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in his death.

Following the Noida incident, the city’s Sector 24 police station has filed a case against the Audi driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident and identify the driver. The incident has also raised concerns about reckless driving and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
