Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc., has thrown his weight behind JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon’s views on border control. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk simply stated, “Jamie Dimon is right.” This endorsement came in response to an eight-month-old interview clip of Dimon, where he discussed the importance of border control and its impact on the nation.
Dimon’s original comments, made in January during a CNBC interview, emphasized the potential consequences of uncontrolled borders. He stated, “If you do not control the borders, you’re going to destroy our country.” He also acknowledged that even his “super liberal friends” have started to recognize the challenges of sending migrants to cities like New York. This statement highlighted the growing concern across the political spectrum regarding the complexities of managing immigration.
Musk has been vocal about immigration issues for some time. In February, he expressed his concerns about the impact of illegal immigration, stating, “I am ringing the alarm bell, because the flood of illegals is crushing the country!” He further criticized the U.S. immigration system in March, describing it as “bizarrely difficult and agonizingly slow.” He advocated for a streamlined legal immigration process, emphasizing the importance of separating legal and illegal immigration.
Musk’s stance aligns with other prominent figures who have voiced their opinions on border control and immigration. Democratic nominee for president, Kamala Harris, in a CNN interview, expressed her intention to enforce stricter border legislation and uphold laws against illegal border crossings. President Joe Biden, in February, vowed to shut down the border between the U.S. and Mexico if Congress approves a bipartisan bill.

A Morning Consult poll in February revealed that a record high of 57% of respondents believe the U.S. is facing a “crisis of illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border.” This reflects a significant increase compared to previous polls conducted during the administrations of both Biden and Trump.
Former President Trump has also made his position clear, proposing mass deportation of immigrants if re-elected. In February, he stated that local police will play a crucial role in implementing this proposal. “We have to deport a lot of people, and they have to start immediately,” Trump emphasized. “We have no choice, and the way you do it is your local police.”
