Elon Musk, known for his candid comments, couldn’t resist a humorous reaction to the unexpected turn of events: former Vice President Dick Cheney’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential elections.
Musk, on Sunday, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his amusement at the political shift. He responded to a post by journalist Glenn Greenwald, who highlighted the irony of Cheney’s endorsement given past criticisms from liberals. Greenwald’s post read: “Aside from calling Dick Cheney a fascist, racist, war profiteering war criminal, liberals also claimed he only became Vice President because the Supreme Court stole the 2000 election for him. Now they’re all proclaiming that Cheney supports Kamala to save American democracy.😂”
Cheney’s endorsement comes at a crucial time as the latest polls by The New York Times/Siena College show Harris and Donald Trump neck and neck in the race to the White House. This sets the stage for a heated presidential debate on Tuesday night.
Interestingly, Trump had previously announced his intention to appoint Musk to a government efficiency commission if elected. Musk had agreed to take up the role, stating he would do it for free.
Liz Cheney, a former congresswoman from Wyoming and daughter of Dick Cheney, also weighed in, calling Trump a “catastrophe” and urging her fellow Republicans to vote for Harris. Her stance further adds to the political drama surrounding the election.
