All eyes are on the upcoming interview between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk, following President Joe Biden’s recent CBS interview. Musk, known for his leadership of Tesla and SpaceX, has teased the highly anticipated, unscripted interview set for tonight, August 12, 2024, on X (formerly known as Twitter). The interview is expected to be a dynamic, unscripted discussion with no limits on subject matter, promising “Entertainment guaranteed!”
Musk announced the event on X, creating a buzz with his promise of a highly engaging conversation. He further revealed that he will be conducting system scaling tests tonight and tomorrow in advance of the interview. The interview will be live-streamed on X at 5 pm Pacific Time, and 5:30 am on Tuesday in India. Viewers are encouraged to submit their questions and comments, promising an engaging conversation. “This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining!” Musk posted.
The announcement comes after President Biden, in his first interview since withdrawing from his re-election bid last month, told CBS Sunday Morning that his decision was influenced by a desire for the Democratic Party to focus entirely on what he sees as a crucial priority: stopping former President Trump from reclaiming the White House.
Musk has been a controversial supporter of Trump, and with the US presidential elections approaching, rumors circulated that he was planning to contribute $45 million monthly to a Super PAC supporting Trump’s campaign. However, Musk has denied these claims. Despite this, a committee linked to Musk is reportedly under government scrutiny, though he maintains he will not be contributing to Trump’s campaign in that manner. Musk’s acquisition of X led to the reinstatement of Trump’s account, which had been banned following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Although Trump’s account is active again, he remains more engaged on his own platform, Truth Social, owned by Trump Media.
