Elon Musk’s ambitious plans to transform the entertainment industry have taken a significant step forward with the announcement of X TV, a dedicated streaming platform set to challenge industry giants like YouTube. X TV, accessible through the X platform, will provide users with an immersive and seamless viewing experience on their big screens.
Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, enthusiastically proclaimed, “From the small screen to the big screen, X is changing everything. Soon, we’ll bring real-time, captivating content to your smart TVs with the X TV App.” She extended an invitation to users to actively participate in shaping the app’s development, fostering a user-centric approach.
X TV distinguishes itself by offering high-quality content and entertainment specifically tailored for large-screen viewing. The app’s seamless cross-device functionality and smartphone casting capabilities elevate the user experience, making it a formidable competitor in the streaming market.
The app currently allows users to upload videos with a maximum duration of 140 seconds. However, Premium users enjoy the privilege of uploading 1080p videos up to two hours long or 720p videos up to three hours long through the platform’s web browser or X’s iOS app, catering to diverse content needs.
X TV’s commitment to content expansion is evident in its strategic partnerships. The platform has secured notable collaborations to enhance its content portfolio, ensuring a diverse and engaging lineup. Notably, an exclusive show with former CNN presenter Don Lemon was in the works but unfortunately fell through due to an interview between Lemon and Musk.
The platform’s growing popularity is reflected in the staggering 23 billion minutes of video viewed by users in the past 30 days alone, highlighting the increasing demand for video content. X TV is poised to capitalize on this demand by offering a comprehensive and user-friendly streaming experience that caters to the evolving preferences of today’s viewers.
