Elon Musk’s Visit to Indonesia Fuels Speculation on India Trip

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s recent visit to Indonesia to launch the Starlink satellite internet service has raised the possibility of a trip to Sri Lanka, after he explored opportunities with President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Musk’s visit to Indonesia came days after his surprise trip to China, where he cleared regulatory hurdles for the launch of self-driving software in the country. While Musk had earlier planned to visit India between April 20 and 22, the trip was canceled at the last moment, with no update on Tesla’s entry into the market. According to a PTI report, Elon Musk’s is yet to inform India about its plans to enter the country. Despite the cancellation, Musk had expressed plans to visit India later this year, signaling potential investment announcements that could have boosted Prime Minister Modi’s business-friendly image. However, amid his active foreign trips, India awaits official plans for Tesla’s domestic entry.
