August marked a significant milestone in the construction of Emerald Cruises’ newest vessel, the Emerald Kaia. The first steel sheets were cut, signaling the beginning of the hull’s construction at the Halong Shipbuilding Company in Vietnam. The event was attended by key figures, including Nguyen Tuan Anh, the shipyard’s general director, and Ivo Skelin, Scenic Group’s head of nautical and technical operations.
The keel-laying ceremony, a significant tradition in shipbuilding, is scheduled for three months from now. Once completed, the Emerald Kaia will be a 393-foot-long yacht, set to launch in April 2026. Designed to cater to 128 guests, the vessel promises a luxurious experience with a range of high-end amenities.
Key features include a newly designed sky deck with private cabanas, a versatile indoor/outdoor sky lounge, a marina with a cozy lounge, a dedicated sun deck for observation, and extensive wellness facilities, encompassing a spa and fitness center.
This development highlights Emerald Cruises’ commitment to expanding its fleet with sophisticated, guest-centric vessels. The Emerald Kaia is poised to redefine luxury travel by sea, setting new standards for comfort, elegance, and innovative design.
