During Aston Villa’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Sunday, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was seen wearing a slightly altered kit. The 31-year-old’s standard Aston Villa goalkeeper strip featured an unusual variation: the lion in the center of the badge was upside down. This modification was not observed on any other player’s uniform.
While the intention behind this alteration remains unknown, it could be a deliberate design choice or simply a kit error. Aston Villa has yet to comment on the matter.
Earlier in the season, Aston Villa experienced issues with their kit provider, Castore. During the initial games of the campaign, the team’s jerseys appeared to absorb excessive sweat, causing them to cling to the players’ bodies due to poor breathability. However, Castore promptly addressed and resolved this issue.
